Fireplace Corner is an Australian-owned family business specialising exclusively in fireplaces.
The original Jetmaster fireplace was invented by current owners Andre & Leigh’s great uncle in 1951. That means fireplaces have been in the family for over 60 years – and have remained a passion!
Andre started working at Jetmaster South Africa in 1995 on the production line helping to manufacture and test the gas burners. After a couple of years, he then went on to join the servicing team where he looked after all the gas servicing and warranty requirements. After leaving South Africa to travel for a while Andre and Leigh settled in Sydney where Andre studied gas fitting and Leigh worked in her chosen field of accountancy. Andre then went onto work at Jetmaster Australia in the gas servicing department and also helped on the design and technical side.
In 2004 an opportunity arose to manage Fireplace Corner, Jetmaster Victoria’s Western Australian branch and soon after Andre and Leigh became the owners.
Invented in 1950 and was introduced into Australia in 1980. It revolutionised the open wood fireplace market. No longer did Australians have to put up with inefficient, costly and smoky brick fireplaces, they also got more heat than from a conventional fireplace. With the increase in popularity of gas fires, Jetmaster introduced, pioneered and developed a stunning range of gas burners for the Universal firebox.
Invented in 1975 by brothers Ron and Dan Shimek in America. In 1987, Heat & Glo patented a technology that would revolutionise the industry. It was called Direct Vent Gas Technology, and it’s regarded as one of the top 25 breakthroughs in residential construction. In 1992 Jetmaster introduced Heat & Glo into the Australian market. This direct vent flue system protects your indoor air quality by expelling 100% of combustion exhaust and feeding the fire with air from outside. With over 50 industry awards, over 74 product patents and 45 industry firsts, Heat & Glo is an unrivaled leader.
Invented in 1969 by Rob Kempson & Doug Lange in Queensland. In 2019 Kemlan Industries celebrated its 50th year manufacturing slow combustion fires for Australian homes. In 2004 Jetmaster expanded into the Kemlan range of slow combustion fireplaces as they are easy and fast lighting, have quick heat up times, and are suitable as a primary heat source.
Invented in 2005 by Joel Belnick in the Kemlan factory in Queensland. This stunning decorative gas fire range was introduced as they feature a floating burner, hidden controls and great performance. With high gas input the flame and radiant heat along with a heat zone kit ensure the Horizon range deliver visually and powerfully as a feature fireplace.
Invented in 1986 by Alan Trusler and Dan Henry in America. They patented the Quadra-Burn system that burns and re-burns gases and smoke in four different zones of the firebox. The technology set a new standard for clean, fuel-efficient heating with wood. And because it is non-catalytic, the system does not degrade in performance over time. In fact, for the past 19 years, their stoves have been the cleanest burning non-catalytic wood stoves tested by the EPA.
